Week 4 Reflection: Native Americans and the West
The term show predetermination was utilized when Americans started to grow westbound. I am appreciative this was done in light of the fact that I may have not have been conceived in the incredible territory of California on the off chance that it had not, however it was the manner in which Americans moved west that makes it awful. I comprehend there was gold, silver, and different valuable fantasies to be investigated, so enormous populaces traveled west. I thoroughly get that. It was an opportunity at a fresh start. Rather than figuring out how to exist together with the individuals they came into contact with en route, they settled on understandings and fake bargains that were totally out of line to the Native Americans who were uninformed to this. These bargains put them in reservations keeping them to little regions contrasted with what they were utilized to.

Week 3 Reflection: Industrial Capitalism
The late nineteenth century was a time of eagerness and trickiness: of voracious Robber Barons, corrupt theorists, and corporate marauders, of obscure strategic approaches, embarrassment tormented governmental issues, and foul showcase." This is the manner in which that a few people sees the last of the nineteenth century, while others decided to take a gander at it as a developmental period for the nation. During this time numerous little makers became modern companies. This was the start of current modern economy as we probably am aware it today. In addition to the fact that this was a period of outrageous governmental issues a period of change. The Civil Service Act's objective was to control government debasement by expecting candidates to take a serious assessment. The Interstate Commerce Act looked to end segregation by railways against little shippers. The Sherman Antitrust banned any business Monopolies.
Industrialism: a social or financial framework based on assembling businesses. Free enterprise: a financial and political framework where a nation's exchange and industry are constrained by private proprietors for benefit, as opposed to by the state. The most political clash during this time was resolved to be the ranchers' revolt. The ranchers censured large business for their battles because of the expanding levies, dry spell, falling costs, and remarkable financing costs. These ranchers started the association of the Populist Party.
Other than major political changes, during the Gilded Age there was innovation developments and mass migration. This was when sports like ball, bicycling and football were concocted. Additionally, papers and magazines started right now. Above all, the phonograph, phone, radio, car, electric trains, and trolleys were additionally all imagined during this time period.
Somewhere in the range of 1865 and 1893 more than 430 million sections of land were settled from individuals relocating westbound. The revelation of gold, silver and different metals in California, Nevada, and Colorado starting in 1849 pushed forward Westward Expansion. This started numerous individuals looking for wealth and individuals started relocating from the east coast and the south to attempt their karma. While every one of these Americans were voyaging westbound, they were attacking the regions of numerous Native Americans who were at that point there. In excess of 250,000 Native Americans were bound into reservations which is genuinely a catastrophe.

Week 2 Reflection: History of Reconstruction and the Rise of Jim Crow
The Period of Reconstruction was the twelve years post Civil War. President Abraham Lincoln needed to change history and not simply have the surrendered states rejoin the association. Rather he was resolutely calling for restricted dark suffrage in the South. Regardless of his endeavors, the Republican congressional board accepted that he was in effect excessively tolerant. Because of this, they built the Wade-Davis Bill. Right now Lincoln would not sign, it was expressed that a greater part of voters must make vow a vow of loyalty to the Union, required all states to cancel servitude, and wouldn't respect wartime obligations.
Regardless of these endeavors, many dark individuals were particularly persecuted. Lincoln's passing on April 4, 1865 didn't improve the situation. With his demise came the ascent of Johnson as president. Because of his free requests from the confederate state, everybody other than Texas looked for readmission by December of 1865. Prior to this however, confederate states volunteered to make Black Codes, which were lawful codes that reduced any rights that dark individuals would have as "liberated" individuals. In spite of the fact that requests were never really met by the southern states, President Johnson reported the Union to be completely reestablished.
I feel that all the things that came straightaway: the confirming of the thirteenth amendment canceling subjection, the Civil Rights Act of 1866, the fifteenth amendment permitting everybody to cast a ballot including blacks, and the power demonstration and the Ku Klux Klan act were all rights that ought to have been managed. These are not things that ought to have had such a lot of obstruction. On the off chance that all the slaves had been liberated with the Emancipation Proclamation, at that point for what reason did the thirteenth amendment must be endorsed again compelling the south to really recognize this.

Introduction Post
Hello My name is Martha Belle, born and raised in Queens, New York. I am a graduating senior majoring in Business management, and until recently was a sports management minor. With my degree, my long term goal is to open and run a chain on community centers for children and adults. My dream is to provide resources for kids in hopes to open doors of opportunity for them. My goal is to also provide resources for adults so that they can reach greater opportunities.
On my down time I love to shop, eat, and watch African American historical documentaries. Due to the fact that I'm almost always hungry people always ask me for snacks because there's a huge chance I may have packed a bag full of them. Growing up I noticed the different styles between my mom and dad, and soon took after my mothers. Only thing that I didn't realize then, but I do now is that my mom's style always requires money! If it's buying groceries, shoes, clothes, movie tickets, I love to shop for absolutely anything. I grew up in a heavy Pro Black household thanks to my father, who always educated on the non mainstream history of our people. From countless trips to museums and exhibits, to fun fact books, to even emailing me videos today in college my father poured his love for our culture and history into me.

I am known as the hustler among my first cousins, because I am always working or always getting a new job. Though I am blessed to have both parents active in my I still choose to have a sense of responsibility for myself and try to provide what I can on my own. I started off this school year working at Ross Dress for Less, and started this semester at Movado Company Store and Old Navy. Currently I am employed at Movado Company Store as an associate and I sell watches.
Until I start opening community centers, I plan to continue working part time at Movado while working full- time at a management firm.
